JOY VOELKER GUEST TEACHER | MASTER TEACHER

Joy’s teaching experience ranges from age two to adult with specialties in both early childhood and pre-professional. Her training and experience as a professional dancer with a parallel career in teaching gives her a distinctive and invaluable skill set. While performing in New York City, Joy studied cross training methods based on gyrotonics. She incorporates this work and knowledge about efficient anatomical use of the body to help young dancers use their bodies with economy and skill while emphasizing self responsibility for growth and integrating the light fun approach of her children’s classes to continue the passion of dance as their training intensifies.

Joy’s guest teaching or master classes vary greatly depending on the needs of the students. She has designed classes for programs that range from the pure recreational to programs that prepare students for conservatory and professional level auditions.
